So Dashiell has a couple pretty cute personalized onesies (Special Delivery, Little Brother). You'd think he'd be great advertising while wearing these, right? Wrong! No one ever sees them! Either he's strapped in his infant carrier, or he's wearing a bib (spits up more often than Annaliese did). So I decided if I wanted his help, I needed to work on some bibs pronto!
I had already done a Valentine's bib, now it is time for Dashiell's First St. Patrick's Day bib. The design is from Embroidery Library, Kathy did the text for me again.
For this monogrammed bib I used Embroidery Boutique's Fun Applique Alphabet for the D, and the Jason font from 8 Claws and a Paw for "dashiell". This bib is from a 10-pack available at Target. The top is terrycloth and the bottom is vinyl. It stitched well, but makes the bib a bit too stiff and crinkly for Dashiell right now. I'll have to save it (and the other nine) for when he's bigger starts eating baby food.
This little knit bib came in a three pack (one of them was already embroidered with a cute monkey). The little tiny swirls reminded me of Five Star Font's Snips and Snails applique set. However, that applique was too big for the bib, so I was just saving that idea for a 3-6month onesie we have in the same pattern. Then 8 Claws and a Paw released the entire Spiral alphabet in 4 different sizes, and I immediately bought it... it will be perfect for stacked monograms with the FSF appliques. Dashiell's name is so long and this bib is little, so even the 1" size was too big. It resized very well when I shrunk it to about 80%.
How cute! And I DO want to see the little guy in them when he's feeling up to it.
ReplyDeleteOk, I've added one picture of Dashiell! More to come...
