Avari's third birthday is coming up, so Rebekah went hunting for a knit dress for me to monogram for her. The only ones she could find were striped. I told her I was up for the challenge. :)
The applique "3" is from the Dandy applique font at 8 Claws and a Paw. I decided to use white minkee, it just looked like a nice winter dress, and I figured what three year old girl wouldn't like a fuzzy applique?? I added her name with the Laney font, also from 8CP. I have to say I was pretty pleased with myself for how well I got the name placed in the middle of that pink stripe, and straight! Always nervous when hooping a striped item... :)

Casserole Carrier
A friend of mine is moving this week. Rebekah truly has the gift of hospitality and I wanted to give her a thank you gift for setting such a good example. I thought a casserole carrier was appropriate since she loves to cook!

Tote for a New Teacher
Lacey just graduated with her teaching degree, so Michelle brought me a tote bag to monogram for her (with her soon-to-be new name). I think it turned out so cute!

Special Deliveries
I have stitched a couple Special Delivery onesies recently (and still have one to go, but it will be a Christmas gift and posted later). These two fellows each got a long-sleeved onesie:
The original design is from Sew Terific Designs; I customized the design with baby's birthplace, birth date, time, weight and full name.

Snowman ornament
Yes, I waited until noon the day of an ornament exchange party to finally make an ornament. :)
My goal was to make something cute and fast, and Lynnie Pinnie's in the hoop snowman ornament was just the thing!
I used variegated thread for the scarf, which I think was an excellent idea. Here's another angle so you can see the cute fringe!

It's December!
Can you believe it's December?? Even though I haven't blogged in a week, I've been busy sewing. Lots of projects completed, I just can't share pictures yet. I think my current tally of unblogged items is 11 ornaments, 3 cards, 3 tote bags, 5 shirts, 3 sweatshirts, 2 onesies, 5 blankets... and my to-do list is just about as long. I actually have started turning orders away. :( That makes me sad, but I have vowed to my wonderful husband to not make this December miserable.
A few weeks back I shared a couple projects that were for Annaliese, and now I have a few modeled pictures. I gave the holiday apron to her this afternoon and we baked cookies:
And here she is in her Baby Jesus shirt (the seemingly awkward pose was her idea...)

Turkey Hair Clips
Our family celebrated Thanksgiving with dear friends today. Poor Dashiell was the only boy among lots of cute girls. Since I was not responsible for baking the turkey, Annaliese and I spent some time together this morning making turkeys of our own!
The turkey felt stitchies are from GG Designs. I made eight hair clips. Even though Annaliese wanted some variety, I opted to make them all identical:
I made that decision because it would be much faster to produce them en masse. I was able to stitch all 8 bodies in one hooping using my smaller hoop, as well as all 8 barrette covers, and all 8 feather pieces in my larger hoop (forgot to take a pic of that one). Annaliese was very helpful -- she helped trim threads and rip out the tearaway stabilizer. Plus she was good company!
Here are the little girls, just before they were ready to go outside and play all afternoon:

Last Round of Thanksgiving cards
Last week I needed to make a few more Thanksgiving cards to be sure I had enough to go around. I was so pleased with the Thanksgiving Pilgrim Hat Basket design from 8 Claws and a Paw that I used it a couple more times, each one with a different variegated thread:
I also used a couple of 8CP's Indian girl designs:This is the Thanksgiving Indian Girl with Turkey:And this is the Thanksgiving Indian Girl with Pumpkin:

Ornament Towels
Remember the Turkey Towels I stitched for myself? I have really enjoyed having those hanging on my oven door this month and how perfectly they match. Since I've only got a few more days to admire them, this weekend I made another pair, this time using a couple of 8 Claws and a Paw's new Christmas designs.
This is the Christmas Ornament Swirl design. I added "Merry Christmas" with 8CP's Ellie font.
And this one is is Christmas Ornament Swirl Two; I used the same font for "Happy Holidays."
Here they are hanging on my oven door!
