Burp cloths!

For Faith's burp cloth, Michelle requested Five Star Font's Scrappy Applique. I went on a hunt for a font that had rounded serifs, and settled on 8 Claws and a Paw's Jester font for "Faith".

For Summer's burp cloth, Michelle asked if there was anything new I wanted to try. I realized I have a beautiful stacked monogram set that I bought well over a year ago that I still haven't stitched! This monogram is Vintage Chloe from Embroidery Boutique.

The burp cloth design is from the Monkey Shines Applique Alphabet Uppercase set sold on OregonPatchWorks. I added "Chase" with Embird Alphabet #2.

The bib design is from the Monkey Shines Applique Alphabet Lowercase. Mmmmmmm.... cookie...

Baseball T-shirt

Remember all the "Opening Day" baseball shirts? Well, Kelli asked if I could stitch a similar t-shirt for a little friend of hers. In this case we used navy, gray and white since they are Yankee fans.

The baseball monogram is from Five Star Fonts. (I apologize for the terrible quality of this picture. I tried and tried, but I could not get a close-up that was both clear AND accurately portrayed the colors...sigh...)

Baby Girl Gift Set

When Kristen found out her brother and his wife were expecting a baby girl, she requested this set (which got shipped just a couple days before she was born!)

The initial inspiration was a similar set I had stitched earlier for baby Peyton -- since her niece will be called Lily, she wanted to go with a floral motif. I used the Flower Power monogram from Julia's Needle Design. "Lily" was added with the font "Amazone BT" digitized for me by Kathy.

For the bib I stitched her name using the same font, and used the flowers from the monogram.

Kristen also wanted an A-line dress, primarily for the other side (which you'll see in a minute). I knew Hobby Lobby had material that matched this ribbon, so Kathy graciously purchased some for me and mailed it my way (we don't have a Hobby Lobby close by, sniff, sniff). I stitched her name again on the dress, using the same font. It's a tad more subtle than I would have liked, but it's still pretty. It is a Martha Pullen reversible A-line size 1.

Kristen's brother is a huge University of Miami fan, so she wanted a little dress for Lily that would display some team spirit!

The fringe cheerleader on megaphone design is from Nobbie Neez Kids. I added "Daddy's Little Hurricane" with Embird Alphabet #8.

Monogrammed Onesie

Kari and her son are off to pay her mother a visit. This grandma calls Carl "Trio" (since he is a third, named after father and grandfather). Kari wanted to surprise her with this onesie:

Kari supplied the onesie and let me pick the font and thread color. I chose Designers from 8 Claws and a Paw.

Monogrammed Stocking

Last year Bonnie purchased monogrammed stockings for all her grandkids. She was a smart grandma and purchased some extra blank ones in anticipation of future grandchildren. Jack was born recently and needs a stocking with his name on it!
Valerie brought me Kylie's stocking so I could try to match the font and thread color. I have absolutely no idea what font was used on these (no perfect match was given at WhatTheFont.com), so I found as close as a match as I could. Thankfully "Jack" doesn't share a single case-sensitive letter with any of the other grandkids, so I didn't have to worry about it being perfect, just a decent match.

Kathy digitized his name in Avant Garde Book for me:

Update: Here it is hanging with the rest of them!

Monogrammed Shirt

Valerie found this cute skirt for Kylie and asked if I could come up with some design to put on a white t-shirt to coordinate. When I saw the floral pattern, I immediately thought of Lynnie Pinnie's Applique Flower Font.

The "K" is from Frenchie Font at 8 Claws and a Paw.

What a fun, personalized outfit that even little sister Kenzie will get to enjoy someday!

Keychains

Poor Chase... another kid at school has mistakenly taken his backpack! In an effort to prevent that from happening again, Aunt Michelle requested a key chain to attach to his backpack. I used Embird Alphabet #30.

Recent burp cloth orders

Michelle requested a burp cloth for a new baby girl. We used the Chunky Curlz Applique font from 8 Claws and a Paw for the "A", and I stitched "Arianna" with Embird Alphabet #17. It may not be totally obvious, but the fabric is the same pattern as the ribbon. (Stay tuned for another cute project with them!)

Melanie requested a couple burp cloths for her niece.
"Daddy's Little Girl" is stitched with Embird Alphabet #38, and I added paisley designs (from a frame from AK Designs Boutique) to go with the ribbon.

"Daddy's Little Princess" is stitched with Embird Alphabet #33. The crown is from a Band to Bow or Nobbie Neez Kids design, I think...

First Birthday Shirt

While doing a search for 1st birthday shirts with a bug theme, Christi stumbled upon the shirt I stitched for Will in July. She contacted me about making one for her son Isaac, and I was happy to oblige!

The "1" is from Chubby Wubby Applique Numbers from GG Designs, and the font is Tinker Toy from 8 Claws and a Paw.

Happy First Birthday, Chloe!!

A special little friend of mine turned one this week. Her mommy wanted something special to wear both on her birthday and at her party. She did some internet searching and found a couple precious outfits, but one was over $80! She figured I could come up with something, so we got to work. We quickly settled on a reversible A-line dress (Martha Pullen, size 1), with two different applique designs. Jenn bought the fabric, ribbon and buttons, then came over and we picked out applique fabric and threads together.

Side One, which she wore to church Wednesday, her actual birthday:

The "1" is from Chubby Wubby Applique Numbers from GG Designs, and the font is Tinker Toy from 8 Claws and a Paw.

Side Two, which she wore today at her party (these pictures aren't that great...):

The applique cake is from Lynnie Pinnie. I added the text with Embird Alphabet #33.

I had my camera with me both Wednesday and today, but failed to take pictures of Chloe, mainly because it's hard to do while holding Dashiell. BUT our mutual friend Glenda took pictures of Chloe this week. You can see a preview on Glenda's Photography blog, and later next week I'll add a few of Glenda's shots to this post so you can see how precious Chloe looks in her dress!

Sports-themed Burp Cloths

Rosanne contacted me about a couple baby gift orders.
Nico's daddy likes soccer and Scotland, so Rosanne suggested a soccer ball and plaid ribbon. I've had this soccer ball design from Embroidery Library for a while, but hadn't stitched it out yet. (I LOVE their Simple Treasures designs!!) Instead of stitching it in three shades of gray/black, I decided to use green and blue for the shading to coordinate with the ribbon. Nico's name is stitched with Indie font from 8 Claws and a Paw.

For Chase's burp cloth, Rosanne requested a UF Gator motif/colors including a football. Originally I suggested a stacked monogram in orange and blue with football ribbon or my usual applique football with "Daddy's Little Gator". But after doing Nico's design, I realized I could do the same thing with EL's Simple Treasures Football. I used a couple shades of orange for the shading and blue for the text. I picked Tinker Toy from 8 Claws and a Paw to coordinate with the polka dots on the ribbon.

Baseball T-shirt

Tiffany requested a shirt for a special little friend who is turning one. His parents are big baseball fans, so she suggested the baseball monogram from Five Star Fonts. Daddy is a Reds fan, Mommy is a Cardinals fan, so we went with red and black.

Baby Boy Gift

Valerie has a new nephew and ordered a few items for him. First, a Special Delivery Onesie:

Valerie's family are Ohio State fans, so the rest of the items are red and white. The applique buckeye design on the bib is a newly released freebie at DigiStitches -- the timing was perfect for this project! I added "Cutest Lil' Buckeye" with Embird Alphabet #8. (also pictured are a couple pacifier clips)

Baby Girl gift set

Tracy requested this bib and burp cloth set to give as a gift:

The monogram is from the Dot Alphabet at Julia's Needle Designs, and "kaitlyn" was added with Five Star Font's Whimsy Alphabet.

I also stitched another burp cloth for Tracy's daughter, Audrey. The monogram is from the Rhumba set available at Sew Crazie Designs.

Ring Bearer Pillow and Flower Girl Baskets

Melanie asked me to make a ring bearer pillow and monogram flower girl baskets for the wedding of a family friend. The colors are salmon and brown, and this is what we came up with. I used Embird Alphabet #38 for all the text. I made the pillow out of taffeta, adding satin ribbon.

The flower girl baskets were purchased at Michaels. I did the embroidery on satin ribbon and attached it to the baskets.

I hope the bride was pleased!
