Baby Gift for Sterling

Christiana (my cousin-in-law, if that's actually a real title) gave birth to a little boy a month ago. For his burp cloth I used the applique S from Embroidery Boutique's Fun Applique Alphabet. I used the Whoa Nelly font from 8 Claws and a Paw for "Sterling".

I also stitched a Special Delivery onesie for him:

The original design is from Sew Terific Designs; I customized the design with Sterling's birthplace, birth date, time, weight and full name.

Ribbon Blankets

Renee requested ribbon blankets for three little babies that were born recently.
Braddock's family are Miami Dolphins fans, so his has Dolphins fleece on one side and orange pin dot on the other with orange, turquoise and football ribbons. I used Embird alphabet #8 for his name.



For Christian she requested footballs (used fleece) and baby blue (regular cotton material). I used Embird alphabet #8 for his name also.



And for Julia's blanket she requested girly pink. :) I used this bright pink minkee for one side and a cute calico for the other. I love the pink and green combo for girls! I used the Frenchie alphabet from 8 Claws and a Paw.

100th Day of School!

Today is the 100th Day of School in Leon County. That's a big deal in kindergarten, so to help Annaliese celebrate, I made her a special shirt. :)

The shirt is the last long-sleeved one I have in my stash from Grandma. Annaliese just got some new striped leggings, so we picked the silver and red to match. I used Chubby Wubby Applique Numbers from GG Designs, and added the text with Embird Alphabet #8.

Introducing Mrs. Dayne Read!

Samantha will be getting married this weekend. Inspired by a jacket she saw elsewhere, she asked me to stitch "Mrs. Dayne Read" on the back of a velour jacket which she will wear after the wedding.

Cute, huh? I'm pleased to know that girls these days are still excited and proud to be called Mrs.!
I used Embird alphabet #38 for the text. The design is about a 7.5" square, which is too big for my hoop, so I did it in two hoopings. I was pretty pleased with myself for getting everything centered/straight/lined up. :)

Mommy's Sweethearts!

I've had this long-sleeved shirt for quite a while and decided to do a little something for myself for Valentine's Day. (The last time I stitched a shirt for me was a maternity top in August 2008!) I also had two red shirts that the kids are about to outgrow, so I made their Valentine's Day shirts to coordinate with mine.

Are they too sweet for your taste? :)

The applique hearts are Lynnie Pinnie's Conversation heart design. I used Embird Alphabet #2 for their names and Alphabet #7 for "Mommy's Sweethearts". It was the closest font I have to the actual logo of the candy.


I chose "SWEET" for Annaliese and "CUTE" for Dashiell. Annaliese's first comment after seeing them was that hers should be cute because she is. Sigh... I suppose I could cover her shirt with all sorts of complimentary conversational hearts. :)

While I was at it, I decided to make our moms each a hand towel with this design. I got to deliver them in person last weekend!

Owl shirt, maternity style

Annaliese's owl shirts have made an impression on her teacher, and she told Annaliese she wanted one. I just happened to have a turquoise maternity top that I had purchased for myself (but never stitched anything on it) so we were able to offer something to her right away. To be honest, it had been my intention to stitch an owl shirt for her at Christmas, but I ran out of time. It was a pleasure to do it now! Per her request, I used the same design and fabrics as Annaliese's turquoise owl shirt -- spirit-filled with school colors and mascot!


The applique design is Sly Owl from Tigerlilyhill Embroidery Designs. I enlarged it 15% since my hoop is bigger than the standard 5x7 hoop, and it stitched beautifully!

Next Friday Annaliese and her teacher are going to be twins so I can take a picture of them together in their matching shirts. I'll add it here or on Facebook.

Special Delivery 2010!

Valerie and Michelle ordered this Special Delivery onesie for a friend. It is the first one I've stitched for a 2010 baby!

Grandma's Little Cowboy

When Marcella saw Jaeson wearing his "Daddy's Little Cowboy" shirt, she knew she had to get something similar for her grandson! This shirt was a gift for Joey's first birthday.

I digitized the applique star, and used Embird Alphabet #8 for the text.

Key Chain

Here is a quick key chain that Renee ordered as a gift for a Packers fan. The "K" is Curlz (Embird alphabet #17).
